Description
Elegia Resort covers a total surface of 1,588.25 sq.m., has a total capacity of 26 rooms and is located at Akrotiraki settlement on the Greek island of Tinos. The design of its construction is a modern interpretation of local traditional architecture, aiming to achieve its smooth integration with the surrounding terrain. Architectural composition evolves into linear prisms, oriented with the long axis running east-west, enabling visitors to relish an amazing sea view, lavishly offered by all rooms and shared spaces of the complex. Elements such as arches, stone walls and wooden arbors are redesigned in a modern way, encompassing traditional construction methods, in full harmonization with the microscale of Tinos settlements, creating a synthesis of tradition and innovation within an environment that perfectly matches aesthetics with technical integrity.
The hotel deploys over three building complexes, each one composed of benches – bases made of stonework and overground levels, ensuring accessibility, comfort and flow of visitors. The dominating material of overground parts is white cement mortar, whereas local stones, jointed with fair colored coating are used for the bases. Niches and semi-outdoor spaces protect against strong winds, reinforcing in parallel the sense of privacy. Each mass is meticulously designed as to the arrangement of interior and exterior spaces, permitting natural lighting and ventilation, ensuring at the same time the operational requirements of the unit. The materials used come from local tradition, with tiles made of raw material forming an image that clearly reflects the natural beauty of the area.
The indoor spaces of this 64-bed hotel cover a total surface of 982 sq.m., divided into seven types of rooms, each one featuring an independent entrance:

Special emphasis is given to shared spaces, spread over 430 sq.m., such as the restaurant, the spa center, the gym and the main swimming pool, smartly combining aesthetics with functionality. The first building accommodates the reception, meeting halls and 5 rooms on level A. The building basement hosts the restaurant and its auxiliary facilities. The second building has 3 rooms on level A, whereas its basement is occupied by a large underground suite boasting a swimming pool. The third building hosts 12 rooms on level A and 5 rooms on the basement. The hotel efficiently manages water, waste and litter, whereas its energy needs are covered through encased P/V collectors installed on the flat roofs and the sheds of the parking seats, with a total capacity of 22 vehicles. As a member of the global network of sustainable constructions, this hotel has a minimal environmental footprint.
